Issue 11 January 27, 2011

Grade Reports / Meetings with Teachers

Secondary grade reports for the first semester are in the mail and should arrive over the weekend or early next week. The same is being done for elementary grades in the event that parents did not schedule an appointment with teachers and pick them up there.

We are seeking feedback on the value of mid-year parent-teacher meetings. If you met with teachers and are willing to respond, click here to send feedback to the office as to whether or not this is a positive and meaningful activity (one we should continue), or whether we should do without it.

Early Registration Discount

Registering early for the coming school year allows us to more accurately purchase over the summer to accommodate the incoming classes. The discounts are significant enough that we would like to pass on the savings to those who help us know how to plan. We therefore, offer significant discounts for registering early.

Registering for 2011-2012 by April 11 will see you save $200 over the fall entry as it runs at $180. By May 10 it is $230, by June 10, $280 and by July 11, it will cost $330 to register. Registration between July 12 and the first day of school will run at $380.

Upcoming Week of Prayer

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

A revival of true godliness among us is the greatest and most urgent of all our needs. To seek this should be our first work... A revival need be expected only in answer to prayer. Selected Messages Book 1 (1958), page 121

The Upper Columbia Conference has initiated a program called 777. It stands for Seventh-day Adventists praying together at 7 AM or 7 PM, or both, seven days a week. Join us as we get ready for our Spring Week of Prayer. Click here to access the UCC resource page for more information on the power of prayer.

One Game Only

You may notice that we have put a volleyball game on our calendar for February 1. No, we are not starting up volleyball again; rather, this is a game that was postponed from earlier in the year when we were snowbound. Hermiston Christian played us at our school and we owe them the return game. Mr. Shearer will be taking our seventh through ninth graders to play this match. If players want, they can bring a snack. We will not be stopping to eat on the way back.

Choir Clinic

Many of our 7th through 10th graders are at Upper Columbia Academy for the UCC Choir Clinic. The final program will be a sacred presentation, Sabbath afternoon (the 29th) at 4:00. For those students whose parents do not attend the program, there will be a bus back to the school which should arrive between 7:30 and 8:00.
