Streams of Light Campaign Update

Many of you may remember the Streams of Light campaign that our Conference initiated in 2004. The goal was to raise $6 million and now, nearly 7 years later, we are almost at our goal. To check out where we are at or how the money is being used, or to donate to the fund, go to http://www.uccsda.org/development.

School Doors Open at 8:15am

In the mornings, more and more students who are not in zero hour classes have been coming to the school before 8:15. Before school care is provided at the Small World Learning Center for students who are 6th grade and below. 7th grade students and older are allowed to come into the school early, however, this is prep time for teachers. Requesting that they use this time to supervise students is unfair to them as it cuts into their time management for their other students. Also, some teachers have meetings in the mornings and others have classes they instruct, so we do not have the wherewithal to operate a program at TCJA.

As a matter of more carefully providing for supervision of all students, Mr. O will be providing work space for 7th through 10th grade students in the computer lab. All students who arrive early but who are not enrolled in a zero-hour class are expected to be in this study room. 6th grade students and younger who show at the main school building will be ushered over to the day care.

Middle School Boys Basketball Comes to an End

Next week will be the last week of basketball for the MS Boys. They have a game on Tuesday at 4:00pm at Country Christian School and on Thursday, the coach is planning a game against the parents. That game, also, is at 4:00pm, however it will be at our school. Following the game there will be a skills competition, a yearbook photo op, and a small year-end party. We plan to be done the activities about 6:00pm.

Hat Giveaways – Mr. O’s Trivia Contests

I have been asked if I actually give away all the hats I offer. While some are never collected, I do give quite a few hats away to those who are able to answer my giveaway questions. So far this year, the following people have claimed hats off of me:

Ryan Lingscheit (4), Austin Parker (4), Josh Brunkhorst (T), Hannah Morrison (K), Emilee Shearer (2), Luke Irvine (6), and Lexi Scotson (8).

Will you claim the next one?
